Is your work spread over 8 tools that don’t know each other?

Bookings in one place, messages in another, payments in a sheet. A change stays in one tool before it reaches the people who need it.

Same week. Same team. A different day.

Cases are tracked by client, opposing party and hearing date; fees are set in an engagement letter. Deadlines must never slip and clients expect regular updates.

Law firm: the same work, today and with Era.

  • Today: Lost requests. A client’s email never got onto anyone’s list. — Era: Shared inbox. Email and WhatsApp in one inbox; requests go to the right person.
  • Today: Hunting documents. Which version is latest and who changed it is unknown. — Era: Documents on the file. Documents live on the client file, with their history.
  • Today: Quote approval. An approved quote never became an invoice. — Era: Quote to invoice. An approved quote becomes an invoice in one step.
  • Today: Collections. An overdue invoice was spotted at month end. — Era: Due-date follow-up. Due invoices are reminded; payments land on the card.

What’s still unpaid this month?

Four invoices are overdue, two from the same client. I’ve drafted reminder emails and will wait for your approval.

Sections on from day one

7 sections switch on together; turn off what you don’t need, add more later.

Before you start

Write the opposing party on the Matter card, then search Customers for that name before moving the lead on. The intake assistant stops at “Conflict check” and waits for you.

From the client’s lead choose “Send upload link”: they upload ID, power of attorney and evidence; you accept or ask again with a reason.

Finance → Agreements → New agreement for the client with the agreed fee, then “Schedule instalments”. Payments are recorded against each instalment.

Time → Log time with the client and a description. Approved weeks become draft invoices for hourly clients.

Write the next hearing and the next legal deadline on each Matter card. Every Monday at 08:30 you get a task to go through the week; filter customers by next hearing to see them.

Yes. Switch on “start with sample data” during setup to get realistic customers, records and history; remove them in one step when you are ready.
